1904. Louis Cartier granted the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. This gave birth to one of the first wristwatches, sealing the friendship between two pioneers. Its rounded square dial, harmonious lug lines and exposed screws are all hallmarks of a watch that would undergo many reinterpretations.

Santos watch, medium model, self-winding mechanical movement, calibre 1847 MC. Steel case, seven-sided crown set with a faceted synthetic spinel, silvery opaline dial, blued-steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal. Steel bracelet with "SmartLink" adjustment system. Second strap in calfskin, steel folding buckle. Both are equipped with the "QuickSwitch" interchangeability system. Case width: 35.1 mm, thickness: 8.83 mm. Water-resistant to 100 metres.
